Do calls made before a price change get the new price?

No. Providers bill each call at the price in effect on the day it ran, so a call on the last day before an increase still costs the old price. Ganivra prices recorded calls the same way, so reports that span the change show both prices.

What happens when a model is shut down?

Requests to a shut-down model ID fail. Move every call to the replacement before the date, and check its price: a replacement often costs more or less per token than the model it replaces. Google lists the earliest date a Gemini model may be shut down and confirms the exact date to users.
