Know what every call costs, and who pays for it.
One phone call runs through a speech model, an LLM, text-to-speech and a phone carrier, each billed separately. See the whole cost of each call next to what that client pays, so you can tell which clients, workflows and call types make money.
The margin risk
Long calls, silence and transfers cost more. The client may pay the same.
A caller who pauses, interrupts or asks to repeat keeps the line, the speech model and the LLM busy. A transfer to a human adds a second leg. On a per-call or monthly fee, those minutes come out of your margin, and the provider bills only show totals per vendor.
Attribute
Give every call one ID
Send the call as one execution_id with the client's customer_id, and label it with a workflow such as inbound_call or outbound_call. Every model, speech and carrier cost for that call joins on those IDs.
Price
Price the AI parts automatically
OpenAI Realtime audio tokens and supported speech models are priced from the usage you send. Record carrier minutes and other speech vendors through the delivery-cost API as telephony or speech costs on the same call.
Connect
Compare each client's calls with their bill
Set up the client's plan the way you bill them: per call, per billed minute, a monthly fee, or a mix. Ganivra puts their revenue next to the cost of their calls for the same period.
For a per-minute plan, send the billed minutes on each call and set them as the plan's unit.
Act
Fix the calls that lose money
Open the most expensive calls to see which step drove the cost. Then test a cheaper model for simple turns, shorter prompts, tighter silence timeouts, an earlier handoff, or a different price for that client.
Ganivra shows the economics. Your voice stack applies the change.
Illustrative call economics
The same agent, two calls, two different margins.
| Call | Client pays | Model + speech + carrier cost | Contribution after tracked costs |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3-minute booking, no transfer | $0.75 per call | $0.32 | +$0.43 |
| 9-minute call with silence and a transfer | $0.75 per call | $1.05 | −$0.30 |
Invented figures to show how call length and transfers move contribution. Staff time, hosting and other operating costs are excluded, so this is not full gross margin. To try your own numbers, use the AI unit economics calculator.
Integration essentials
Send usage facts with call context.
customer_id + workflowUse your internal client ID and consistent labels such as inbound_call. Keep caller names and numbers in your own system.
execution_idUse the same call ID on model events and on telephony and speech delivery costs, so they add up to one call.
billed_minutesFor per-minute pricing, send the minutes you bill as a custom attribute and use it as the plan's unit. Count each charge once.
